Every since Jennifer Kunz was a child she has loved horses. Her dream was to always be around them and luckily her dream has come true at the Duchess Sanctuary. Jennifer tends to the 200 safeguarded stallions who live on the 1,120-acres facility near Oakland, Oregon and knows each of them by name. It was built up in 2008 as a place for around 200 mishandled, relinquished, ignored, and destitute steeds and is worked by The Fund for Animals in association with The Humane Society of The United States.
Huge numbers of the horses at the sanctuary originate from the Pregnant Mare Urine (PMU) industry. As Jennifer visits the delightful sanctuary in the feature underneath, you’ll see the stallions meandering openly through the fields.
